Leicester Marina

Leicester Marina is a picturesque location catered for boaters to enjoy a life on the water. Conveniently situated on the River Soar, with multiple services on site and nearby local amenities.

It is a privately owned marina and very well maintained, with an abundance of wildlife who also like to reside here with the boaters! Offering newly refurbished facilities and an array of services from necessities to ‘little extras’ which provide a thoughtful approach from our marina management.

Hill Farm Marina

This stunning new marina opened in October 2017. With 50 berths in a very rural and tranquil setting, there are excellent opportunities for cruising. It’s a family run operation with David and Leanne Amor who farm the land and business partner David Cooke.

Droitwich Spa Marina

The new waterways route passes through the picturesque town of Droitwich Spa with many shops, pubs and cafes. It also encompasses the historic cathedral city of Worcester with a host of activities on offer, extensive shopping and restaurants. Worcester has many sporting facilities including Premiership Worcester Rugby Club at Sixways, Worcestershire County Cricket Club & Worcester Racecourse.

Droitwich Spa Marina is in an excellent location, not only for the Midlands canal network, but it is just 2 miles from Junction 5 of the M5 motorway. Once moored you are just a 15 minute stroll along the Droitwich Junction canal towpath down to Droitwich Spa town centre or a short stroll up to the Eagle and Sun Pub at the junction with the Worcester-Birmingham Canal.

Droitwich Spa Marina is an ideal startpoint for walkers, with many routes to choose from, either along the towpaths or rights of way across open farmland. The National Trust property Hanbury Hall is a delightful one hour’s walk away through some of Worcestershire’s finest countryside, completely avoiding any road and is recommended as a ‘must visit’.

The Jinney Ring Craft Centre near Hanbury is a 5 minute drive away. Birmingham Bull Ring/City Centre or Bristol’s Cribbs Causeway are both under an hour’s drive away.

Shardlow Heritage Centre

Originally a river port, Shardlow developed greatly with the opening of the Trent and Mersey Canal in 1770. Goods were transferred from wide boats to narrowboats and stored during this operation or while awaiting redistribution by road, in a growing range of warehouses.

Along with this development came all sorts of other businesses and buildings to support the carriers – boat builders, ropewalks, workshops, stores, stables, offices, workers cottages and owner’s houses. The decline of the Canal business brought different uses for the warehouses but the area remains remarkably unchanged.

Shardlow Heritage Centre is housed in the oldest of these warehouses. It tells the story of the village from Roman times to the present day with particular emphasis on the canal port. It includes wall and cabinet displays, a mock up boat cabin, an audio visual introduction to the village today, dressing up clothes for children, a small library and sales area and an extremely friendly and helpful group of volunteer staff.

Kings Bromley

Surrounded by countryside, this quiet spot on the Trent and Mersey Canal is the perfect place to get away from it all. Conveniently situated in Staffordshire, Kings Bromley also has some great cruising routes, with Fradley Junction only a few miles away– it’s a great base to explore the Four Counties and the Cheshire Ring.

But there’s plenty to do on land, too, like the iconic National Memorial Arboretum, the Lichfield Cathedral, and the Tamworth Castle, all waiting to be explored. There’s also a nice pub just a short walk from the marina. For commuters, you’ve also got easy access to the A38, which is 10 minutes from the marina.

When you’re ready for a day on land, Trinity’s got lots on offer. As well as a bunch of nearby shops, bars and restaurants, you’ve got the historic market town of Hinckley on your doorstep – the Triumph motorcycle museum is well worth a visit.

You’ll be well looked after at Wigrams – the staff are a lovely bunch, and they’ll go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your time by the water (and we’ve got the glowing reviews to back it up!).
